Field Rules
RED BARONS’ AMPHITHEATER
FLYING SITE & FIELD SAFETY RULES
1. Entrance gates to be locked at all times when Amphitheater
employees
are not present, specifically on weekends and holidays and after 5pm
on
weekdays.
2. Flying is ONLY to take place in the designated Red Barons’ flying
area.
There is no flying over the Amphitheater Complex or paved parking
areas: Refer to Field Boundary Map.
3. Red Barons’ members are prohibited from entering the Amphitheater
Complex, paved parking areas or interrupting Amphitheater employees
unless there is an emergency justifying a visit to the Amphitheater
office. Examples of justified emergencies are fire or medical
emergencies.
4. No flying on days in which the Amphitheater has scheduled events.

5. The following are not allowed at any time:
a) No turbine powered planes
b) No rockets (due to extreme fire hazard and lack of pilot)
c) No free flight planes due to lack of pilot control
d) PLEASE NOTE: Electric powered planes are allowed, but use extreme
caution to the heat generated from the motor batteries.
e) No gas engines OVER 40cc
6. Any member (or guest of a member) must follow all AMA rules and
Red
Barons’ rules as stated in the Red Barons’ Constitution and Bylaws
when flying on our field.
7. All flying is to be done within the field boundaries (see posted
maps).
8. All engines (AND ELECTRIC MOTORS) are to be started in the
designated locations at either end of the Pit Area. NO STARTING or
RUNNING OF ENGINES IN THE PIT AREA.
9. All 3D Flying and Helicopter Hovering are to be done AT A MINIMUM
of
50 feet West of the runway. At no time will this type of flying be
allowed
over the runway, pilots’ stations, pit area or parking areas.
10. The Flight Line will be that line created by the fence
immediately in
front of the pilot stations and running North and South parallel to
the
runway and extending to the Northern and Southern boundaries of our
field. There will be NO FLYING behind (East of) the Flight Line.
11. Guests are the full responsibility of the sponsoring member.
12. New members must prove flying proficiency before being allowed
to fly
without an instructor.
As a Red Barons’ member, I agree to fully abide by these rules. I
understand if I break any of them, my flying privileges could be
revoked.
