Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How as a guest do I visit the Red Barons?
A: To all prospective guests to the Red Barons’ Flying Field in Marysville, our field is located on private business property and we are required to keep the entrance gate locked at all times. If you want to visit our field, please contact one of the officers (contact info is posted) or any member that you may know, and make an appointment with them to meet at the entrance gate to let you in.

Q: How do I partake in one of the Red Barons events listed as a current AMA card holder?
A: Event days we will have a 'guest' padlock on the outer gate and publish that unique combination (and any other event day information) on our website. Just pull up to the gate - use your combo provided - pull through and lock the gate behind you, simple!

Q: How as a person wanting to check out remote control models do I learn to fly with the Red Barons?
A: To all prospective students of model aviation. We are currently in talks with Civil Air Patrol (CAP) scouting and EAA young eagles and encourage you and your school or organization to come fly for free with our training program. We offer year round training on Saturdays by appointment at our primary flying field at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Marysville.  Please fill out this form and our training coordinator will contact you and find the best fit for you.

Q: What do I need to learn to fly model airplanes?
A: The will to learn - everything else is provided for FREE: Plane / radio / fuel / instruction / FUN!
